Buddha Purnima

On the auspicious occasion of Buddha Poornima, the Buddha Study Centre at ST PAULS
COLLEGE organized a workshop titled, “Embracing Peace in Turbulent Times”, featuring the esteemed Buddhist monk Geshe Tenzin Celon. The event was graced by the presence of
students, faculty, and guests, all eager to gain insights into cultivating inner peace amid life’s
challenges. The workshop commenced with an insightful opening address by Ms. Deeksha M R, Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at ST PAULS COLLEGE. She welcomed the attendees and highlighted the relevance of the workshop in today’s fast-paced and often chaotic world. Emphasis was made on the importance of mental well-being and the role of mindfulness and spiritual practices in achieving a balanced life. She expressed her gratitude to Geshe Tenzin Celon for sharing his wisdom on such a significant day. Geshe Tenzin Celon began his session with a serene mindfulness exercise, inviting the participants to meditate and focus on their breath. This simple yet profound practice set a tranquil tone for the workshop. In her closing remarks, Nikita Deshpande, the host for the day, thanked Geshe Tenzin Celon for
his enlightening session and the participants for their active engagement. She reiterated the
importance of integrating the learned practices into everyday life to foster a peaceful and resilient
