Institution’s Innovation Council: National Pollution Control Day

The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of ST PAULS COLLEGE, Bengaluru, celebrated National Pollution Control Day on 2 December 2024 by organizing an insightful session titled “Circular Economy: Paving the Way for Pollution-Free Future”. The event, held in Room No. 115, commenced at 9 AM and witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty and students.  The resource person for the day was Ms. Dalvy Jose, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, ST PAULS COLLEGE. She delivered a compelling talk that highlighted the importance of adopting a circular economy to combat environmental degradation and control pollution. The circular economy model emphasizes minimizing waste, reusing resources, and creating sustainable systems to replace the traditional linear economy of “take, make, and dispose.” During her presentation, Ms. Dalvy discussed how this model could significantly reduce pollution levels, conserve finite natural resources, and foster economic growth. She showcased real-world examples and best practices from global and national contexts to illustrate the implementation of circular economic principles in industries, communities, and daily life.  The event also aimed to raise awareness among students about the pressing need to adopt sustainable practices and how innovation can play a crucial role in addressing pollution control challenges. Interactive discussions followed, where students shared their thoughts on integrating circular economy concepts into various sectors, such as manufacturing, agriculture, and urban development. The program served as a platform to encourage young minds to think critically about sustainable solutions for a greener and cleaner future.
