Guest Lecture: Marxism – An Overview

Political Science, Department of Humanities organized the guest lecture on ‘Marxism: An Overview’ on 11 June 2021. Lt. Roy Mathew was the resource person who also an author and assistant professor at St. Xavier’s College Vaikom, Kerala. He has many years of research experience on the topic.

Mr Roy Mathew analyzed the theoretical aspects of Marxism from a critical perspective. Marxism is a social, political and economic philosophy named after Karl Marx. The resource person explained the historical roots of Marxism by dividing its developments into Karl Marx’s, Lenin’s and Mao’s periods of time. Mr Roy maintained a balanced and unbiased approach in elucidating the Marxian ideologies.

The guest talk concluded with a Question-and-Answer session where the attendees presented their doubts and questions to the resource person who provided them profound and perceptive answers.
