Kannada Rajyotsava Celebration

ST PAULS COLLEGE, Bengaluru, hosted “Atharva” a grand celebration of Karnataka Rajyothsava, on 30 November 2024. The event, held in the college auditorium, commenced at 10:00 AM and celebrated the cultural richness and linguistic pride of Karnataka. The highlight of the celebration was the presence of Jogila Siddaraju, a renowned writer and cultural figure, as the chief guest. In his keynote address, Mr. Siddaraju emphasized the importance of preserving Kannada’s literary and cultural heritage in the modern era. He also inspired the audience with anecdotes showcasing the richness of Karnataka’s traditions. The auditorium came alive with vibrant cultural performances by students, including folk dances, theatrical representations, and musical renditions celebrating Karnataka’s rich legacy. The event began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by a soulful rendition of the Kannada anthem. A visual presentation highlighting the history of Kannada Rajyothsava and the state’s contributions to art, culture, and literature added an educational dimension to the event.  Organized under the guidance of the college management and Ms Savithri, the coordinator, Assistant Professor, Department of Languages, the celebration also included a tribute to iconic personalities who have contributed to Karnataka’s growth.  Dr. Fr. Thomas M.J, in his address, lauded the efforts of students and faculty in organizing the event and urged everyone to take pride in their cultural roots. The cultural programs, interspersed with motivational speeches, captivated the audience and created an atmosphere of festivity and pride.  The program concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the chief guest, participants, and organizers for their valuable contributions. The Karnataka Rajyothsava celebration at ST PAULS COLLEGE was a fitting tribute to the spirit of Karnataka and its cultural grandeur, leaving everyone present with a renewed sense of pride and belonging.
