Bangalore North District Pre- University Kabaddi Tournament

The Pre University Intercollegiate Kabaddi Tournament for North Bangalore District was held with great enthusiasm and fervor, showcasing the spirit of sportsmanship and competitive energy among the youth of the region. The tournament was jointly organized by ST PAULS College, in association with Vagdevi PU College, Bangalore, and the Government of Karnataka Department of Pre-University Education. The event aimed to provide a platform for talented young kabaddi players to showcase their skills and compete at the district level. The tournament took place on August 17th and 18th, 2023, for the Boys Kabaddi Tournament, and on August 19th and 20th, 2023, for the Girls Kabaddi Tournament. The venue for the event was ST PAULS COLLEGE, Bangalore, which provided a suitable backdrop for the spirited competition.

The inauguration ceremonies were held on separate days, with the Boys Tournament’s inauguration on August 17th and the Girls Tournament’s inauguration on August 19th. Principal Fr Thomas MJ presided over the ceremonies and delivered a motivating presidential address, setting the tone for the competition. Distinguished personalities graced the event, enhancing its prestige. Sri Raju N, Deputy Director of the Department of School Education, Bangalore North District, took on the role of Chief Guest. The Guests of Honour included Shivakumar R, Vagdevi College Principal, Sri M Muralidhar, Sports Coordinator of Bangalore North District, and Dr Girish C Gola, Joint Sports Coordinator. Their presence added an air of significance to the tournament.

The sports committee of ST PAULS COLLEGE, headed by Mr. Manjunath, the Physical Education Director, played a pivotal role in organizing the event. The college’s NSS and NCC student volunteers, along with other faculty members, contributed their efforts to ensure the smooth execution of the tournament.
