
Kairos 2023
Kairos ’23 is an intercollegiate Techno-cultural fest which was organised by Pegasus – computer Science association of ST PAULS COLLEGE Bangalore, this is the second edition. It is a celebration that brings together students from various streams and colleges to explore, experience, and enjoy the wonders of this advancing tech world. The main motive of the fest is to address the problem of digital divide and create an environment for everyone to explore and gain knowledge. The eagerly anticipated Kairos 2023, an intercollegiate IT fest organized by the Pegasus Computer Science Association, commenced with great enthusiasm. The event took place from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., providing a platform for participants to explore and gain knowledge in the field of IT.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including Rev. Fr. Dr. Thomas MJ, the Principal, Rev. Fr. Dr. Shaiju Joseph, the Vice Principal, Mr. Melwyn Amrithraj, the Department In-charge, Mr. Prakash, Assistant professor, department of computer science Marian Uday, the Event Convenor, and Mahek Vaja, the President of Pegasus. The ceremony began with a soulful prayer song performed by the college choir, invoking blessings for a successful event. Mahek Vaja extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries, setting the stage for the festivities to follow.
The ceremonial lighting of the lamp marked the official commencement of Kairos 2023. Rev. Fr. Dr. Thomas MJ addressed the gathering, expressing his thoughts on the significance of the event and formally declaring Kairos 2023 open. The inauguration was accompanied by an engaging introductory video, which captivated the audience and set the tone for the day.
After the inauguration, the participants were guided to their respective event venues, as announced by the event’s Master of Ceremonies. Fest had various events related to gaming and IT like FIFA 23, Free fire, BGMI, Valorant, IT manager, IT Quiz, Idea Presentation etc., cultural events like Beatboxing and Mock rock were also included to add to the excitement and entertainment of the fest, a special performance by Mr. Kevin Noel, the renowned beatboxer and India’s second-ranked artist, was organized. His mesmerizing performance not only enthralled the audience but also served as a judging criterion for the beatbox event.
The day concluded with the highly anticipated valedictory ceremony. The dignitaries present on stage included Rev. Fr. Dr. Thomas MJ, the Principal, Mr. Melwyn Amrithraj, the Department In-charge, Mr. Prakash, the Faculty Coordinator of Pegasus, and Ms. Greeshma, an Assistant Professor from the Department of Computer Science. Additionally, the ceremony was graced by the presence of the chief guest, Ms. Harini Ramesh, a multi-talented individual known for her contributions as a singer, writer, and business analyst.
The valedictory ceremony commenced with Annie Justina, a student of 1 B.Sc., introducing the chief guest to the audience. The chief guest captivated the crowd with her words of wisdom, sharing valuable insights and experiences. The ceremony proceeded with the distribution of prizes, including trophies and cash awards, to the deserving winners and runners-up of the various events held throughout Kairos 2023.
Finally, the much-anticipated announcement of the overall winners and runners-up was made. Jain College emerged as the champions, securing the title of the overall winners, while KL College was declared the runners-up, showcasing their commendable performances in the fest. The event concluded with Mr. Melwyn delivering a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all the participants, dignitaries, faculty, and staff members who contributed to the success of Kairos 2023.
Kairos 2023 provided a platform for students to showcase their talent, exchange ideas, and foster a spirit of learning and innovation. The event’s resounding success is a testament to the dedication and hard work put in by all those involved.
