NSS Unit of ST PAULS COLLEGE organized Annual Special Camp

NSS Unit of ST PAULS COLLEGE organized Annual Special Camp in NSS Bhavan, Bangalore University from 19 April to 25 April 2024 for the volunteers. Dr. H R Raveesha, NSS Programme Coordinator, Bangalore University was the Chief Guest, Fr. Thomas M J, Principal, ST PAULS College, Mr. Gowtham R, NSS Programme Officer, ST PAULS COLLEGE inaugurated the camp in the presence of the faculty members and volunteers.
Dr. Raveesha addressed the volunteers about the significance of youth in social change and its positive impact on the society. And also creates awareness on personality development, leadership, commitment in serving the society with no expectations.
Volunteers are enriched with general and social cause during the camp. NSS Unit has organized special talks during the camp to educate the volunteers.
Day 2 – 20 April 2024 – “Green Initiatives” by Mr. B N Ananda, Environmentalist, Retired Engineer, President of Sapthami Trust (NGO).
Day 3 – 21 April 2024 – “Media as a Catalyst for enhancing social work through public engagement” by Dr. Prashanth V, HOD JMC, ST PAULS COLLEGE.
Day 4 – 22 April2024 – “Health and Fitness” by Mr. Manjunatha V, PED, ST PAULS COLLEGE.
Day 5 – 23 April 2024 – “Biodiversity Park Visit”. During the camp volunteers enhanced their knowledge about plant species and formation and deformation of rock structure by the walking tour to Bio Park, Bangalore University under the guidance of Mr. Krishna Murthy, Bio Park Guide, BU.
Day 6 – 24 April 2024 – “Emotional Intelligence” by Dr. Shailaja M, HOD Humanities, ST PAULS COLLEGE.
Volunteers were engaged in many awareness creating activities like tree plantation, health and hygiene, communal harmony, avoiding plastic usage, disappearing of folk etc., with the support of Ms. Sumathi C P, NSS Member.
Dr. S Balaji, President, Janapada Yuva Brigade, Bengaluru has witnessed the valedictory event of the camp and encouraged the students to involve folk culture and customs in their daily life to elevate the essence of Folk Art and Culture.
