Oracle 2024 – Techno -Cultural-Gaming

Oracle 2024: A Thrilling Three-Day Celebration of Technology, Talent, and Creativity at St. Paul’s College. Oracle 2024, the much-anticipated intra-department festival organized by the Department of Computer Science at St. Paul’s College, unfolded across three action-packed days from November 13 to November 15, 2024. The event brought together the vibrant minds of BCA and BSC students, providing a platform for them to showcase their skills, creativity, and enthusiasm in a series of diverse activities that spanned across gaming, technical challenges, and cultural performances. This year’s Oracle Fest was a resounding success, blending competition with camaraderie, innovation with tradition, and intellect with entertainment.

Day 1: A Game-filled Extravaganza: The first day of Oracle 2024 was a whirlwind of excitement, featuring an eclectic mix of online and offline gaming events that tested the participants’ reflexes, strategy, and technical acumen. The competitive spirit was high from the outset, with a series of events that captured the attention of all participants. The day began with NFS: Need for Speed, a high-octane racing competition where students battled head-to-head on intricate tracks, testing their driving skills and reflexes. The adrenaline was palpable as participants navigated sharp corners and raced to claim victory. It was a test of precision, speed, and mental agility, and the electric atmosphere set the tone for the rest of the day. Next up was Among Us – The Single Battle, where the usual team-based social deduction game was turned on its head. In this solo version, each participant had to identify the imposter among the group using their observation skills, quick thinking, and strategic manoeuvring. The game was filled with suspense as players attempted to outwit each other in this intense, mind-bending battle.

The Halo competition added another layer of intensity to the day, plunging participants into a world of first-person shooters. Here, students teamed up, strategized, and battled it out to claim victory. It wasn’t just about gaming; it was about forming alliances, planning attacks, and working together under pressure to emerge victorious. For those with a knack for IT management, the IT Manager Round 1 was a welcome diversion from the gaming scene. This round encouraged participants to solve real-life IT challenges, combining technical knowledge with practical problem-solving skills. The event not only highlighted the students’ expertise in information technology but also their ability to think critically and innovatively under pressure. In a surprising twist, Reverse Pakdam Pakadai took the classic chase game to a whole new level. Participants formed teams and, instead of chasing, were tasked with eliminating members of opposing teams by strategically tagging them. The twist brought a fresh layer of strategy and suspense, making it one of the day’s most exhilarating events. Day 1 concluded with a strong sense of community and enthusiasm, as students bonded over their shared love for gaming, technology, and friendly competition. It was clear that Oracle 2024 was shaping up to be a memorable experience for everyone involved.

Day 2: A Day of Brainstorms and Technical Showcases: The second day of Oracle 2024 was all about showcasing the students’ technical prowess, critical thinking, and leadership abilities. The day featured a range of intellectual challenges that encouraged participants to apply their skills in real-world scenarios. One of the highlight events was the IT Manager competition, which took place in two parts. The first round, a debate on the topic “What if IT Manager is a Transgender,” stirred thought-provoking discussions on inclusivity, equality, and the challenges faced by transgender individuals in leadership roles. The participants articulated their views with clarity and passion, addressing how diverse perspectives could enhance workplace dynamics and promote a supportive environment.

The second round, the Stress Interview, put participants through a high-pressure simulation of an interview with a panel of judges. The candidates were tested on their ability to stay composed, think critically, and make sound decisions under stress. The intensity of this round highlighted the importance of emotional intelligence and decision-making in leadership roles.

The Idea Presentation event showcased the students’ creativity and innovation. Participants presented original ideas aimed at solving contemporary issues or introducing positive change. Whether it was a tech-based solution or a ground-breaking business model, the presentations impressed judges and peers alike with their practicality and originality. In the Just a Minute event, participants were challenged to think and speak on their feet. They were asked to enact and speak about given scenarios in front of an audience, testing their improvisation, public speaking, and communication skills. This event was a true test of quick thinking and stage presence. The Coding and Debugging competition were another major highlight of Day 2. With three rigorous rounds – Aptitude, Coding, and Debugging – students had the chance to demonstrate their problem-solving and programming skills. From tackling logical reasoning questions to writing efficient code and debugging errors, participants were pushed to the limits of their technical abilities. The IT Quiz further tested participants’ knowledge in technology and IT. With rounds focusing on aptitude and picture recognition, students had to prove their expertise in tech-related concepts, famous personalities, and industry knowledge. Finally, the Technical Treasure Hunt brought a fun, action-packed end to the day. Teams worked together to solve technical riddles and clues scattered across the campus, racing against each other to uncover the “treasure.” The event fostered collaboration, creativity, and a spirit of exploration, making it one of the most popular events of the day.

Day 3: The Cultural Fest – Celebrating Talent and Creativity: The third day of Oracle 2024 was dedicated to the cultural aspect of the festival, where students from the Department of Computer Science let their artistic talents shine. The Group Singing, Group Dance, and Fashion Show events transformed the campus into a vibrant celebration of creativity and expression. The Group Singing event showcased the musical talents of students as they performed both contemporary and traditional songs. The performances were full of energy, and the audience couldn’t help but cheer for the passionate singers who filled the air with melody. The Group Dance competition was a visual treat, with students showcasing their choreography and dancing skills. The performances ranged from traditional styles to contemporary dance forms, with each group bringing its unique flair to the stage. The high-energy performances and synchronized movements mesmerized the audience, adding a touch of glamour to the day’s events. Finally, the Fashion Show was a dazzling display of style and creativity, as students walked the runway flaunting innovative designs and striking outfits. The event celebrated not just fashion, but also the individuality and confidence of the participants, who took the stage with poise and flair.

Conclusion:

Oracle 2024 was more than just a fest – it was an unforgettable experience that brought together the best of technology, creativity, and competition. Over the course of three days, students were given the opportunity to test their skills, showcase their talents, and bond with their peers. From high-energy gaming challenges to intellectual debates, from coding marathons to cultural performances, Oracle 2024 truly embodied the spirit of innovation, collaboration, and celebration. The fest left an indelible mark on everyone who participated, setting the stage for even bigger and better events in the years to come.
