Paulotsava 2024

On June 29, 2024, ST PAULS COLLEGE, Bengaluru, came alive with the vibrant colors and sounds of Paulotsava 24, our annual College Day and Ethnic Day celebrations. This year’s theme, “Indian Dynasties,” provided a beautiful backdrop as students, faculty, and staff gathered in the Main Auditorium to celebrate our rich cultural heritage

The day began with a solemn and heartfelt prayer led by Christin and her team, setting a respectful and serene tone for the festivities. The air was filled with anticipation and excitement as everyone settled in for a day of celebration and reflection.

Ms. Saranya, Cordinator of the event and The Literary and Cultural Association of the college, delivered a warm and inspiring welcome address. She acknowledged the presence of our Principal, Vice Principal, student council, staff, and students, and highlighted the importance of the day’s theme. She eloquently spoke about the significance of reconnecting with our historical and cultural roots, setting the stage for a day of meaningful celebration.

Our Principal then took the stage to present the annual report, detailing the college’s achievements over the past year. The engaging PowerPoint presentation highlighted significant milestones and future plans, showcasing the academic and extracurricular progress of our institution. It was a moment of pride and reflection for everyone present.

A special highlight of the morning was the release of Paulstride 24, our annual college magazine. This year’s edition captured the creative and intellectual contributions of students and faculty, serving as a testament to the vibrant academic and cultural life at ST PAULS COLLEGE.

Ms. Elizabeth expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved in organizing the event and to all attendees for their participation and support. Her vote of thanks was a reminder of the collaborative spirit that makes events like Paulotsava so special.

The day truly came alive with a series of stunning performances by our college teams. Akriti brought the beauty of Raasleela to the stage, while CrewX celebrated Indian sports through dance. The Fashion Team dazzled with a vibrant display of Mughal era attire, and the Choir touched hearts with a contemporary multilingual medley. The Theatre Team offered a poignant performance depicting an interaction between a modern-day granddaughter and her freedom-fighter grandfather, bridging past and present in a powerful narrative.

As the celebrations continued, various student groups took to the stage to represent different Indian dynasties through their performances. Each group showcased the unique traditions, values, and contributions of their assigned dynasty, from the valor of the Rajputs by the BA students to the cultural richness of the Vijayanagara Empire by the BCOM students. The BBA students brought the spirit of the Marathas to life, while the BCA, BSC, and MA/MSC students showcased the legacies of the Cholas, Palas, and Ahoms, respectively.

After a brief intermission, the festivities resumed with the much-anticipated prize distribution ceremony. Awards were handed out to recognize outstanding achievements in sports, cultural activities, and academic excellence. The University Players were also felicitated for their remarkable contributions and performances. Prizes were given for BAT Culturals and BAT Sports, along with accolades for ECHOES English Literary Week and Language Day.

The event was a resounding success, achieving its aim of celebrating the college’s annual achievements while promoting cultural awareness and appreciation.
