Workshop On Internet Safety and Privacy

The PEGASUS – Computer Science Association of ST PAULS COLLEGE organized a workshop on Internet Safety and Privacy,” aimed at increasing digital security awareness and promoting safe online practices among students. The workshop was led by Mr. Muhammed Saleem, a seasoned cybersecurity expert known for engaging and informative sessions on protecting digital identities. We began the session by felicitating the resource person with Mementos and a gift hamper.

Mr. Saleem began by discussing the current landscape of online threats, including phishing scams, data breaches, and identity theft. He explained the fundamental principles of cybersecurity, emphasizing the importance of strong passwords, two-factor authentication, and recognizing potential threats. Through live demonstrations, Mr. Saleem showcased how easily data can be compromised without adequate precautions. Participants were actively engaged in a Q&A session, during which Mr. Saleem addressed their queries and shared practical tips on maintaining online privacy. The workshop also included interactive segments, during which students assessed their digital safety practices.

The workshop was well-received, with participants gaining valuable insights into safe internet usage and privacy protection. The Department of Computer Science thanks Mr. Muhammed Saleem for his valuable contribution and hopes to organize similar events to further enhance cybersecurity awareness. We have 83 participants from both BCA and BSC. The participants’ positive feedback underscores the workshop’s success and the critical importance of cybersecurity education in today’s digital world.
