About the Course

Duration of the Program (semester & hours): V Sem BCom /BBA & 15 hours

The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, ST PAULS COLLEGE, Bengaluru has been organizing a variety of certificate courses, short-term courses, workshops, seminars and conferences on various themes related to communication and media.

The Certificate course in Television Production and Software Training will help the students who want to learn and upgrade their skills in communication, journalism, and allied fields in anchoring, reporting, camera handling. editing, etc. It also allows the working professionals to enhance and update their knowledge and get a formal certificate.

The students are given conceptual understanding, along with training in professional skills by senior academicians and professionals with rich experience. The syllabus is highly practical-oriented, with strong industry linkages.

Developing TV stories: Process and planning

Planning and structuring the copy for various audio visual inputs

Structuring a TV news report, V/O‟s, packages and story formats

Editing bytes, procuring and editing visuals – archives, graphics and other sources

Writing anchor leads

Writing for astons, subtitles, scrawls and other TV screen value addition instruments

TV editing for different Types of Visuals

Multi-tasking – Planning video footage, generating news content and video editing

Compilation of news: Two-minute bulletins to one-hour news programme

Outcome

  • Students will learn the art and craft of TV Journalism and equip them with skills and practices to readily take up journalistic and production jobs in TV Channels.
  • To provide extensive hands on training in the latest digital audio-video technologies, social media and new media tools
