Environmental Club

The Environmental club of ST PAULS COLLEGE is a voluntary group comprising of students and faculty which promotes participation of students in learning about and working towards the conservation and sustainability of their environment. The purpose of the club is to create awareness of environmental issues such as protection, conservation, preservation and restoration, with an emphasis on educating and empowering students. Students who are interested in environmental advocacy and awareness are encouraged to join.

Objectives:

  • To motivate the students to keep the surroundings clean
  • To educate about waste management
  • To create awareness about water and energy conservation
  • To instill a sense of responsibility for the environment and a personal commitment to protect and preserve the environment
  • To educate students against dumping and burning of waste in public places

Action Plan:

  • Planting of trees by the students
  • Awareness programme on medicinal trees for the students
  • Creation and development of the herbal garden in the college campus
  • Guest lecturer on waste management and environmental conservation

Expected Results:

  • It will increase awareness of environmental issues among faculty, staff, and students
  • Students will create awareness amongst public and sanitary workers to stop the indiscriminate burning of waste which causes respiratory diseases
  • Students will start to keep their surroundings green and clean by undertaking planting of trees
  • Conservation of water by minimizing the use of water
  • Students will minimize the use of plastic bags and stop throwing them in public places
