National Service Scheme is Gandhiji’s scheme to adopt the youths in creating a better society. ST PAULS COLLEGE aims to instill the idea of social welfare in students to provide service to society without bias. In doing so, volunteers learn to lead a good life with scarce resources. NSS volunteers take up social activities for the progress of the society and not for their personal benefits. They help to create general awareness among the public. Unit will conduct a special camp which will help them to learn about the social and human values that can be adopted in their daily lives.

Objectives:

  • To understand the community in which they work
  • To understand themselves in relation to their community
  • To identify the needs and problems of the community and involve them in problem-solving
  • To develop among themselves a sense of social and civic responsibility
  • To utilise their knowledge in finding practical solutions to individual and community problems
  • To develop competence required for group-living and sharing of responsibilities
  • To gain skills in mobilizing community participation
  • To acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitudes
  • To develop capacity to meet emergencies and natural disasters
  • To practice national integration and social harmony

 

Action Plan:

Social Awareness, Orientation on Social and Health Issues, Education, Environment, National Integration, Plastic Collection, Campus Cleaning, Blood Donation Camp, Free Health Camp, Swaccha Nagasandra Campaign and Special Camp.
